Revel in another season of world-class live music in a stunning outdoor wine country setting. Blue Note Napa's Summer Sessions concert series is back at The Meritage Resort and Spa, showcasing a lineup of diverse and electrifying artists including Morris Day and the Time and Sheila E.
Born in Minneapolis, Morris Day developed an early passion for fashion and music. Day went to school with Prince and performed in his first band, Grand Central. Prince later recruited Day to front The Time, a funk band created as his alter ego, and their rise was cemented by appearances in Purple Rain and a string of hit albums. After success with The Time, Day launched a solo career, with combined sales exceeding 10 million units.
Sheila E., the “Queen of Percussion,” rose from a music-rich Bay Area upbringing into a groundbreaking career as a drummer, singer, and producer, collaborating with legends like Prince, Marvin Gaye, and Beyoncé. Launching her solo career in the 1980s, she achieved major success with hits like “The Glamorous Life” and “A Love Bizarre,” while also serving as a key creative force in Prince’s band. Beyond performing, she is a philanthropist, author, and mentor who continues to create music, support communities, and inspire through her artistry.
